LEASING

Case Study

A major retailer wanted to expand his business into other European markets. In order to do this they had to make a significant investment in a new manufacturing plant in Hungary. As a direct result they needed to expand their tanker fleet to service these new market segments. GE’s TIP Trailer Services enabled them to lease a complete new fleet in all those new locations and free up the cash they needed to build a new manufacturing plant.

OPERATIONAL LEASE

Case Study

A medium sized national carrier wanted an additional 20 trailers to add to their fleet of 80 but did not want the hassle of having to maintain it themselves. In addition, they did not have the level of buying power to negotiate directly and effectively with the trailer manufacturers, nor the capability to sell the trailers.
By taking out a full service lease option with GE’s TIP Trailer Services, they received brand new equipment, fully maintained and serviced by us in exchange for a monthly fixed fee.

SALE & LEASEBACK

Case study

A large international chemicals company with a fleet of over 200 tankers needed a significant injection of cash to support the acquisition of their major competitor. A team of experts from GE’s TIP Trailer Services worked with them on a sale and lease back solution that resulted in us taking over their entire fleet. This freed up the cash that they needed to complete their acquisition and keep their business growing.

FLEXIRENT®

Case study

A regional freight forwarder was experiencing an increasing demand for shorter term and less secure contracts from its customers. They needed to meet this increasing demand but could not afford to take the risk of purchasing or leasing equipment over long periods. They decided to take a FlexiRent® contract from GE’s TIP Trailer Services, which gave them the option to return the equipment early if demand fell. Thanks to GE’s FlexiRent® they were provided with an opportunity to support a new initiative and limit their risk in doing so.

RENTAL

Case study

More and more freight forwarders are acquiring contracts without a long term commitment. Nonetheless they need to have good quality trailers to be able to meet their customers’ specific requirements as stated within those contracts. Rental from GE’s FleetOptions enables them to do just that, but without having to commit to a long term lease and absorb the necessary risks attached to it.

SALES

Case study

Our years of experience have shown that when buying pre-owned equipment, medium sized transport companies are mostly concerned with choice and speed of delivery, without having to spend too much time travelling to find the right equipment. Recent surveys have reinforced this and also underlined that reliability and trust were key factors that prevented customers from purchasing.
